Who is LZM perfect for?

Our Co-Foundry platform is designed for people like us. People who have the desire to use their creative skills to build something special; but feel like they don't fit the typical "entrepreneur" description.

We are for the visionary student. We are for the motivated young professional with a full-time job. We are for the stay at home mom with big ideas. We are for the retired dreamer seeking a new adventure. We are for First-Time Founders.

Why is LZM better?

Our main advantage for our Co-Founders is our Low Risk model. LZM is not a VC firm or Angel Investor platform. We do not provide "loans" (DEBT) or "investments" (DEBT) or "seed-funding" (DEBT).

We work with new founders to develop minimally viable products to start generating revenue fast. This revenue is immediately re-invested in the product line to self-fund the project. Our Co-Founders never owe us a dime if their project does not succeed.

How are Start-ups Launched?

Each new Start-up begins as a "project". The project is focused on creating a testable MVP - minimally viable product. The new MVP is tested and sold to real customers to provide funding for continued development and product growth. Once the product can self-sustain and the business model is validated. An independent spin-off company is officially launched into the world.

LZM works collaboratively on projects and MVPs with our

co-foundry teams. What's even better? Our teams also support each other; sharing valuable insights and lessons learned.

In the pre-spin off phases of the project LZM provides the technical tools needed to validate the business model. (web hosting, database management, billing services, etc.) The co-foundry product team takes the lead on product development, in-bound/out-bound marketing and sales.

Why this approach?

This process is designed to protect founders and optimize for success. By launching product MVPs under the LZM umbrella it not only allows for founders to build and test their ideas at little or no cost, but also limits their personal liability should their initial concept fail. During the pre-spin off period, founders earn a fixed percentage of revenue earned from their product line & are paid as independent contributors. This eliminates any corporate tax liabilities and enables the "boot-strapping" development model that LZM provides.

How does this work?

Co-foundry teams will build their MVP on an LZM subdomain/website with as much or as little technical training and support they need. In the pre-spin off phase, customers will purchase the product on the LZM product portal. LZM will pay the founders the agreed upon fixed percentage of each sale; and retain the remainder of revenue for LZM operational costs and tax purposes. Once the product demonstrates PFF (product-founder fit), PMF (product-market fit), and profitability; it will spin-off independently.

What We Look For:

LZM is a faith-based organization. Our core values are derived from the proven biblical principles of personal and professional success. While our Co-Founder's need not share our faith, they must demonstrate the universal qualities of successful entrepreneurs(which just so happen to be the qualities reflected in scripture).

Founder Mindset

Starting your own company isn't for everyone. There are specific psychological and character traits that predict successful founders. Our application includes a psychological screening test to measure these traits.

Track Record

Building a successful business from scratch requires work. In your application to LZM you will provide examples of what you can do. We are looking for habits of productivity. In any form. Community service? -Great! Raise two-kids? -Awesome! Lead a D&D group? -Fantastic! "All work - Works."

Value Add Motivation

Why do you want to start a business? Money is the worst motivator for building a successful product. We are motivated by helping others; through solving problems. Making a profit is a result of creating value for people, not the other way around.

Market RWE

You can't build a product to solve a problem that you don't understand. Successful founders have a high-level of knowledge of the needs of their customers. A member of your founding team should have RWE (Real World Experience) with the problem you are solving.
